This is my friend Toms cabin in Monteagle, TN. We went there about a month ago when we needed to get away from everything in Nashville. It was absolutely perfect. It could not have been at a more perfect time.
We lit a fire that lasted all weekend, made some great food, played with the dog, read everything we could, and finally slowed down to a healthy pace for a couple days.
What do you know, one month later all I can think about is Toms cabin. I know it is the holiday season and it is supposed to get a little crazy. But come on.
Sometimes I dream of moving out into the mountains and finding some simple job and living in a simple small town. I realize this is crazy because I am in my twenties and would get bored by the second week. I realize there is some imbalance in my life that makes me dream of such things when I am only in my twenties. But there you have it. I think about it all the time.
Thank you Tom for letting me find myself again at your cabin. It’s the perfect place to slow down enough to read, pray, relax, and clear my head. I hope that I can go again someday. You are a true friend.
